To be a part of an organization that helps and prevents homelessness means the world to me. I have always believed that one of my purposes on earth is to help the homeless and less fortunate. To be a blessing to the women and children that will occupy M&E’s will not only be a blessing to people we serve it will also be a huge blessing to myself. I thank God in advance for all the healing and loving that will occur in this home.

Geraldine S. Taylor

This is a deep concern in my heart that the homeless be fed, housed, shelter provided. Matthew 25:31-40.” The righteous will answer him ,Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invited you in, or needing clothes and clothe you ? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? The King will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers (sisters) of mine, you did for me.”

Mary and Elizabeth’s House was birthed out of one of my favorite scriptures Isaiah 58:7-8.
As a single mother myself at age 19, I understand the struggles and obstacles that come with such a major responsibility at a young age.
This is a home you can come to and rebuild your life, step by step, day by day!
The home that houses Mary and Elizabeth was Tommie and Elizabeth Johnson’s home. Tom was the generous Patriarch of both the Johnson and Swain families. Upon his transition the home was inherited by their family and will continue to be a beacon hope and resource to the community at large.
